The day God laughed

  • Series: Summer Psalms #4
  • Scripture: Psa 2
  • Location: St Paul's Cooma

Psalm 2 is an enthronement psalm, probably written in honour of the accession of a Davidic (descended from David) king to the throne of Judah. Like other royal psalms it speaks of the human king of the time, whilst also pointing past that king to the ‘ultimate David’, Jesus Christ. Let this royal psalm stoke our confidence in God’s sovereign supremacy, so we would pray and plan accordingly. The God who laughs at all human presumption, and has already installed his ultimate King.
