There is risk in ignoring God’s invitation to bask in grace. One day it will be too late to say “Lord, we truly need you; we cannot find joy in ourselves and our devices and plans; we must feast on your grace today, or we will die.” Choose now to let God serve you; stop looking for eternal joy in earthly shadows; stop seeking nourishment in stale bread. Why be satisfied for today and hungry forever?

Trusting Christ means accepting that invisible, heavenly, future and eternal treasure is of more worth than treasure you can see and handle and use now. It’s a choice between being empty-handed now but wealthy for eternity, or comfortable now and bankrupt for eternity.
